PROJECT BRIEF
As part of Ed Sheeran’s Mathematics Tour 2025, we were commissioned to design performance screen visuals for four new tracks from his upcoming album Play: Sapphire, Azizam, A Little More, and Old Phone.
Each track needed a distinct visual identity that complemented the tour’s existing design language, while also translating seamlessly across stadium shows and major festival appearances, including Coachella and BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend.
Our team focused on building looks that felt immersive, cinematic, and tightly connected to the music itself. Each piece was crafted to work at massive scale while still carrying the intimacy and narrative detail Ed’s performances are known for.
For Azizam, which debuted at Coachella 2025, we created visuals that fused gritty realism with vibrant pop art. Using footage from the music video, shot on the streets of New York, we layered documentary textures with neon bursts, halftone hearts, and fast-cut street imagery. The result was a bold, emotional backdrop that amplified the track’s energy on stage.
For Sapphire, we drew inspiration from the single’s music video - a vibrant journey through India. The visuals pulsed with rainbow gradients made of powder smoke, overlaid with inverted footage of Ed in street markets, football pitches, and rickshaws. Bold, fast-paced, and celebratory, the graphics exploded with colour for maximum impact.
